“I can resist everything except temptation”

Wickedness enters your life in a number of different guises. Our friends Jem and Sassy are visiting and Rock has found time to bake things that we are all going to lust after.

The objects of our desire – home cooked scones which are delightfully airy but firm enough to hold a fusion of luscious strawberry jam and thick clotted cream.  Such joy for the senses….this has to be sinful.

When the warm scones arrive we all compete to create the most photogenic combination of scone, jam and cream. Should it be cream first then jam or jam then cream – Jem does it one way, Sassy the other.  And it soon becomes clear that some amongst us are choosing to focus on what they want to put in their mouth – rather than what will look good in a picture.

Rock tells me that the secret of light and airy scones is down to science.  I should have known.  The chemical reaction between the lemon juice and the baking powder helps to create the lightness ….and scones that are too tempting to resist!

Wade and Rock are a UK based couple who love good food and wildlife and love travelling to find it. Wade does most, but not all, of the writing and the photography. Rock shares the eating experience and tells Wade when planned posts fall short on sense or style or taste. In the opinion of Wade (and many of our friends) she is also a fabulous baker. WadeandRockandFood mainly consists of reviews of restaurants and pubs we have recently visited. WadeandRockandWildlife and WadeandRockandPlaces are mostly photoblogs.
