Lunch @ Eat Wild, Cirencester

It is quite rare for us to find a place that has good food, good beer and good music. Today we are beating a path to Eat Wild in Cirencester and our hopes are high.

The drinks menu is promising – Rock orders a Mandarin & Seville Orange Jigger, botanically brewed by Fentimans and she is happy. I order a pint of Steady Rolling Man, an aromatic pale ale by the local Deya Brewing Company. It has layers of hoppiness with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. I’m even happier!

To some extent, Eat Wild is a glorified burger joint – but they do it with taste and style. Rock selects the local heritage breed Pulled Pork Pitta with a funky Kale Slaw and Rosemary Salted fries. It arrives on a tin tray, looks good and there are stax of fries piled into a tin mug – we could be round a campfire! I order the Wild Venison Burger with all the usuals squeezed into a Hobbs House Brioche bun and fries. It is fabulous.

I am a real music lover and it is rare to find a place where tracks have been carefully hand-picked for quality. Most people are familiar with The Isley Brothers and Otis Redding but far less are aware of The Delfonics and Jean Knight. I sat through lunch eating and singing (quietly) in equal measure.

We order coffee….that is full of flava too!

We would return just for the food and drink – but the music will draw us back even sooner. If you want a quality burger, a great beer, a good coffee and a smart soundtrack, try Eat Wild – “It’s Your Thing”.

Wade and Rock are a UK based couple who love good food and wildlife and love travelling to find it. Wade does most, but not all, of the writing and the photography. Rock shares the eating experience and tells Wade when planned posts fall short on sense or style or taste. In the opinion of Wade (and many of our friends) she is also a fabulous baker. WadeandRockandFood mainly consists of reviews of restaurants and pubs we have recently visited. WadeandRockandWildlife and WadeandRockandPlaces are mostly photoblogs.
