Dessert@The Angel, Hetton

After a very good breakfast at Bettys we are approaching lunchtime with very little appetite. However, we have a plan that includes lunch at The Angel in Hetton and we are hoping that once we have had a drink, spent some time people watching and menu reading, we will be more in the mood.

It is becoming clear that we are never going to do lunch justice and so we decide to share a dessert. We order the lemon posset with basil shortbread and fresh raspberries.

The posset is rich and beautiful but we really needed more raspberries to cut through the richness. We will have to return to The Angel – but next time we will not have been to Bettys first!

Wade and Rock are a UK based couple who love good food and wildlife and love travelling to find it. Wade does most, but not all, of the writing and the photography. Rock shares the eating experience and tells Wade when planned posts fall short on sense or style or taste. In the opinion of Wade (and many of our friends) she is also a fabulous baker. WadeandRockandFood mainly consists of reviews of restaurants and pubs we have recently visited. WadeandRockandWildlife and WadeandRockandPlaces are mostly photoblogs.
