Coffee&Cake@Noir, Malmö

We have loved watching three series of the Nordic TV drama The Bridge – so it is great to have the chance to travel from Copenhagen to Malmö, by train, over the Øresund Bridge. Now in Sweden, we can briefly forget about Danish pastries and start thinking about Swedish kaffebröd.

As we wander round Malmö, it is clear that there are an abundance of places to enjoy coffee. We decide to invest in some local knowledge and, as we pass a really fine looking deli, we ask the lady there to tell us the best place to get coffee & cake. She is sending us to Noir.

Noir is an independent cafe only 150 metres from one of the main tourist areas of Malmö, Lilla Torg (or Little Square). We find Noir to be both relaxed and friendly when we arrive.  But it is their coffee and cake that we really love!  Coffee which has been expertly made by a proffessional barista and their classic chocolate cake created with a great deal of chocolate and mascarpone … Wow!

Using local knowledge is always a great idea.

Wade and Rock are a UK based couple who love good food and wildlife and love travelling to find it. Wade does most, but not all, of the writing and the photography. Rock shares the eating experience and tells Wade when planned posts fall short on sense or style or taste. In the opinion of Wade (and many of our friends) she is also a fabulous baker. WadeandRockandFood mainly consists of reviews of restaurants and pubs we have recently visited. WadeandRockandWildlife and WadeandRockandPlaces are mostly photoblogs.
